General

Now that you have bought a cooking unit, it is time to assemble your OFYR. All of our products are not yet assembled, to make sure they do not damage during transport. Once you receive your cooking unit, it is important to read the manual thoroughly and to handle each part with care. All the elements have a considerable weight, so unpacking and placing your OFYR is a job that requires at least 2 people. In case of the OFYR XL, you need 4 people.

Each of our units has adjustable feet. These are used to stabilise your base on an uneven surface and should never be used to adjust the overall height of your OFYR. When the feet are extended by more than 10 mm, your cooking unit can become unstable.

The OFYR Black models are more sensitive to damage because of their coating. Always be very careful when unpacking and assembling these products. To limit the damage caused by friction between the cone and base, felt is included for all Black models. Please refer to your manual for instructions on how to place the felt.

Classic

The OFYR Classic units are available in Corten steel and Black-coated steel. The Corten models may cause some orange stains on your clothes, skin and the surface they stand on during assembling. The Black models are more sustainable for blemishes and damages, so always be careful when placing and assembling these models.

Always make sure that all elements are levelled before you start cooking with your OFYR. This will improve the longevity of your products and ensure that it works properly.

Storage

When storing logs or other items in the storage space of your OFYR Classic Storage or your OFYR Island, always leave a free space of 20cm below the top plate, because the bottom of the top plate becomes very hot. Logs might catch fire if they are too close to the plate.

Island

The Tooltray can be atttached on multiple sides of the cooking unit. Both the wooden and the ceramic block have feet. Those of the wooden block are pre-mounted and the ones of the ceramic block still need to be mounted.

PRO-Line

When mounting the parts of your OFYR Cooking Unit PRO do not use the handle to tilt the base. The handle is only suited to pull or push the device once the wheels have been mounted.

The wheels of your Cooking Unit PRO are not equipped with breaks. If the surface is not completely level, wedges should be put under the wheels in order to be certain that the cooking unit cannot move.

Fire Guard Ring

With six steel brackets it is easy to mount the
Fire Guard Ring on the plate and easy to take it off.

The two sides of the fire guard ring are slightly different in curve. The side with the coloured sticker is the bottom side.
